Step back in time and enjoy a day in pre-industrial America.

Historic Eastfield Village, in East Nassau, NY, is celebrating its 7th annual Founders’ Day Open House on Saturday, September 23 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

This is the one day of the year that the general public is invited to come and visit the privately-owned, recreated nineteenth century village. Admission is $20; children accompanied by an adult are free.

Guests can tour more than 20 historic structures and their furnishings, dating from 1789 – 1840. Master craftsmen, including a printer, tinsmith, blacksmith, cabinetmaker, potter, scissor artist and more, will be demonstrating their skills and selling their wares.

Enjoy nineteenth century entertainments including “Shape- note” Singing, Magician, Music, and Miniature Hot Air Balloons. Other demonstrations include presentations by Eastfield’s own 19th Century “Militia,” and country dancing.

Patrons can enjoy tea and sweets or a hearty lunch available for sale at the Briggs Tavern and can shop for handcrafted items and antiques.
