Ian has 20 years of international experience preserving historic buildings and traditional crafts. He co-founded Preservation Inc. and owns New Netherland Timber Framing and Preservation, focusing on assessment, restoration, and education. A passionate advocate for trades education, he is active in several preservation organizations and gave a TED talk on the role of trades in urban preservation.
