Participants learn a simple 32-page pamphlet format bound in its printed wrapper on the printing process on Eastfield’s original iron hand presses. Students set type, & take turns in the inking & printing of the presses. The workshop also examines the functioning, set up, adjustment, & operation of presses. The final day is spent on binding techniques. Attendees gain the skills needed to achieve high levels of printing quality using basic tools.
