This course introduces the student to the basic tools & processes of blacksmithing. Through a series of practical projects, students will learn to make their own tongs and other simple forge tools, familiarizing themselves with such techniques as drawing out, upsetting, bending, twisting, & other forming methods.  More advanced subjects such as welding, brazing, simple heat treating of carbon steel for edged tools will also be touched upon. The remaining time will be devoted to small projects of the student's choice.
